Hey, enough about Obama and Clinton for this evening. Let's talk OSCARS!
Been watching the red carpet and people are starting to show up. It's raining in LA but they've got it handled with a canopy that still allows a lot of light in.
Fave so far is Ann Hathaway with a GORGEOUS red gown. She looks stunning.
George Clooney has gone in already, and he looked great as usual, as did his girlfriend.
Nominations here
Personally, I'm disappointed in a lot of the nominees this year. Didn't care at all for No Country for Old Men, hardly think it deserves a nomination and as much as I love Javier Bardiem, I just don't think his performance was remotely Oscar-worthy. I liked Michael Clayton a LOT but not quite sure it's the best picture of the year. Atonement was pretty good, There Will be Blood was good and Daniel Day Lewis was fantastic, but I have to say that Viggo Mortensen was the best of all of these guys this year. AWESOME performance, and I HATED History of Violence, so I was surprised by how much I liked this one.
Couldn't watch Sweeney Todd because, you know, Johnny Depp was singing... the whole time. Can't do it, sorry....
Ooh, Kelly Preston wearing a beautiful tangerine dress. I like it....
I hope Casey Affleck wins supporting actor. BY FAR his best role, and I think the best of the nominees.
And I'm not getting why Julie Christie was nominated for Away from her... I mean, she's been great, but this role is not that amazing. I think this is a sentimental nomination....
