Big news! On the heels of endorsements from Republicans like Colin Powell, leading Neo-Con Ken Adelman, and former Republican Senator Lary Pressler, it has been confirmed, as many have been predicting since the beginning of the Republican Convention, Senator John McCain's subconscious has endorsed Democratic Senator Barack Obama's campaign for the Presidency.
"John McCain is the wrong choice to be President in these trying times" revealed the McCain psyche today in a phone call to David Letterman. "He does not have what it takes to lead our nation through these totally, totally messed up times. Please don't vote for him. Me. Him. Us. Seriously. Everyone should just vote for Obama."
Speculation began about McCain's self-unendorsement when the long time Senator from Arizona chose Alaska's Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate, to the surprise and dismay of many Americans, and Republican party officials and leaders in particular. Many surmised that such a reckless choice was an indication of McCain's id gaining expression.
Rumors of a split in the McCain psyche grew after McCain chose to suspend his campaign in order to "focus on the economic crisis" mere days after confidently declaring the fundamentals of the economy to be strong.
His erratic behavior and deeply flawed campaign have left many wondering who was really in charge of McCain.
During the final presidential debate, McCain seemed to be battling within himself to remain composed and rational.
His attempts to continue his campaign for the Presidency in spite of the inner conflict that is clearly and visibly overwhelming him became fruitless on Tuesday morning, a mere 7 days from the election, when he revealed his true wishes to the late night host. "I'm about to crater."
The McCain/Palin campaign had not returned calls requesting comment as of press time.
